Well, that was a disappointment! I thought Christian Bale should have won the Best Actor Oscar last night. Bummer.

Not surprised that Black Panther didn't win Best Picture. Hollywood wouldn't allow a superhero movie to take home the gold. >:(

Black Panther is up for Best Picture. I wish Wonder Woman had gotten a chance at that statuette, but I'll be thrilled if BP makes history for the superhero genre by capturing the award.

Is it me, or has the Oscar buzz been muted this year? I nearly forgot the show was tonight.

It is supreme irony that an industry that exists to entertain can't make their showcase awards show diverting. I guess it's the nature of the beast. Awful riffing by actors who can't improvise without a script to save their lives (once in awhile you get an exception), tedious 'comedy' sketches, song-and-dance numbers thrown in...you get the picture ( Read more... )

I recently went to see Exodus: Gods And Kings because I wanted to see Christian Bale in this role as Moses. I’d seen the trailer and stills from the set and loved the Egyptian scenes (I wanted to see him in those gorgeous clothes), and thought the special effects would be cool on the big screen.
